About these Terms
These Terms govern every purchase from Joy Diamond Jewelry at joydiamondjewelry.com. By placing an order, you accept these Terms together with our Returns & Refunds, Shipping Policy, Limited Warranty and Privacy Policy.
Where the law of the country you live in gives you consumer rights that cannot be waived, those rights apply in addition to anything stated here. Where these Terms and such a right conflict, the law prevails.
Who we are
Joy Diamond Jewelry is a trading name of Guild 79 LLC, a limited liability company registered in Wyoming, United States, registered office 30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801. You can reach us at support@joydiamondjewelry.com.
Our pieces are made by hand in our atelier in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar (Kapalıçarşı), where Joy has worked since 1999.
Orders delivered in Türkiye are sold by a separate business, Joy Pırlanta, at joypirlanta.com, under its own terms. These Terms do not apply to those orders.
What you are buying
Each piece is finished in our atelier for your order: sized, set, polished and checked, then dispatched as described in our Shipping Policy. Each piece is made in the karat gold shown on its product page and is stamped with its gold fineness (585 for 14K, 750 for 18K), the maker's mark and the country of origin, TURKEY.
The weight and measurements on a product page describe the design in its standard size. Because every piece is finished by hand, a finished piece may vary slightly from these figures; this is a feature of handwork, not a defect. The price is for the finished piece and is not calculated by weight. The stated karat is exact and is guaranteed by the fineness mark.
Diamonds, gold and certificates
- Diamond on its own always means a natural, mined diamond.
- Lab-grown diamonds are always described as "lab-grown diamond" on the product page, in the product title, on your order confirmation and on your invoice.
- Any treatment of a stone is disclosed on the product page and on the stone's report.
- Diamond weights are given in carats to two decimal places, as recorded on the stone's report; for pieces with several stones we state the total weight ("ct tw").
- Our gold meets its stated fineness: 14K is 585 parts per thousand and 18K is 750 parts per thousand.
Every piece comes with a Joy certificate, issued by our atelier, describing the piece, its gold and its stones. Diamonds of 0.50 ct and above also come with an independent grading report: HRD or GIA for natural diamonds, IGI for lab-grown diamonds. On our solitaire builder pages, the report shown next to each stone (HRD, GIA or IGI) ships with that stone, whatever its carat. You can check a report number on the laboratory's own website.
Personalization and sizing
Where a product offers engraving or a choice of size, you choose these before checkout. Engraved pieces and pieces made in a size outside the standard range are made for you and are excluded from change-of-mind returns (see Returns & Refunds).
Choosing the correct size is your responsibility; each product page gives measurements, and sizing help is available at support@joydiamondjewelry.com. If a ring does not fit, we can resize it for a fee, quoted before any work begins (see Lifetime service below).
Orders, prices and payment
Prices are shown in US dollars. For orders to the United States, import duties are calculated at checkout and shown as a separate line before you pay; we pay them to customs for you, so nothing more is due on delivery. Sales tax is added at checkout where it applies. Shipping is free on orders of $500 or more; below that, the shipping cost is shown at checkout before you pay.
An order is accepted when we send the order confirmation email. Payment is taken in full at checkout. We accept major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay through Shopify Payments, and any other method shown at checkout. For private commissions, payment by bank transfer can be arranged before ordering. We do not store your card details and do not accept cash.
One-of-a-kind stones
Some pieces are set with a specific natural diamond that is one of a kind and may also be offered by our partner store in Türkiye, Joy Pırlanta. If the stone you ordered has already been sold, we tell you within 1 business day and either refund you in full or, if you prefer, offer a comparable stone for your approval.
Cancellation
You may cancel an order at any time before it is dispatched. Email support@joydiamondjewelry.com with your order number; we confirm the cancellation and refund the full amount to your original payment method within 5 business days. Once a piece has been dispatched, our Returns & Refunds policy applies.
Lifetime service
For the original purchaser, for as long as they own the piece, we offer:
- Free of charge: cleaning and polishing, prong tightening and clasp replacement.
- At cost, quoted before work begins: resizing, stone replacement and major restoration. Quotes are sent within 3 business days and work starts only after you confirm.
Some designs cannot be resized, such as eternity (full-band) rings; for these a new piece in your size is quoted instead. You cover insured shipping to and from our atelier and any import charges on the return to you.
Limited warranty
Every piece carries our one-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. The full terms, including how to make a claim, are on our Limited Warranty page.
Identity verification on high-value orders
For orders above USD 3,000 we may ask for photo identification and the last four digits of the payment card before dispatch, as part of our fraud-prevention checks. You may cover any details on the ID that we do not need, such as the document number. Identity images are deleted once the check is complete; the fact and outcome of the check are kept as a fraud-prevention record for the period stated in our Privacy Policy.
Chargebacks
Please contact us at support@joydiamondjewelry.com before disputing a payment with your bank; most concerns are resolved within two to three business days. If a chargeback is filed, we may provide the payment processor with the delivery confirmation and signature, our packing photographs, the stone report numbers and our correspondence with you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any single piece, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, is limited to the amount you paid for that piece. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages, such as loss of resale value or of a personal occasion.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Force majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as earthquake, fire, flood, war, pandemic, courier disruption, customs action or government measures. If such an event affects your order, we tell you the revised date and you may cancel for a full refund while the order is delayed.
Intellectual property
The Joy name and logo, our designs, photography and texts are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may share photographs of pieces you own on personal social media; commercial use requires our written consent.
Right to refuse an order
We may refuse or cancel an order, with a full refund, where we reasonably suspect fraud, cannot verify identity, cannot deliver to the destination, or where the law of the destination or United States sanctions law prohibits the sale.
Privacy
Your personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in law or in how we work. The version in force when you place an order applies to that order. Changes are shown by a new "Last updated" date.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. You may bring proceedings in the state or federal courts of Wyoming; this does not take away any right you have under the consumer law of the country where you live to bring proceedings there.
